Wrote build document, prepare System test case, unit test case for customer. Testing, defect fixing and enhancement request found during UAT.

Project: Service Automation Solution. (BMC Cloud Management Solution for Virtualization.)

Role: Sr. SQA engineer. (Individual contributor)

Responsibility: Worked on Agile methodology with primary responsibilities to analyze end to end customer solution stories. My role was to install, integrate and test functionality of several BMC products. Test coverage of end to end working functionality. Interacting with cross products stake holder and explaining the “not working” integration point and get solution for blockers. List of Product Suite used in the solution are BMC ARServer, Atrium CMDB, Remedy ITSM, SRM, Atrium Orchestration, Blade Logic, VMware Virtual center. Arranging, Attending and demoing end to end solution and working functionality to EO’s of products.

Worked on Full Stack Server Provisioning and Virtual Lifecycle Management automation solutions which are the solutions designed for the customers for the Service provisioning of Virtual Machine using VMware Virtual Center. FSP includes Network, Storage and Server Provision on a physical bare machine which just has the Mac address identified. Functionality of product includes VM create, extend, start, stop, snapshot, reboot, delete etc.

Amadeus Gmbh Germany Sep 08 – March 09. (Recession)

Amadeus is one of the largest service providers for airline industry, hotel booking and car rental. They had a BMC Remedy based implementation for their support needs. They want to implement CMDB to streamline the central repository based management of all important CIs related to business.

They also want to develop multiple ARS based modules to meet the specific needs of the client.

Project: BMC Atrium CMDB Implementation. (Columbus)

Role: Automation Engineer. (Individual contributor)

Responsibility: As team member I was responsible to setup BMC Atrium CMDB. Worked closely with BMC Software education, support and implementation team. My role was end to end delivery of the solution including download latest installable from BMC support, install, configured with client requirement, upgrade, fine tune and customize BMC applications. I implemented Topology Discovery 1.6 with BMC Atrium CMDB 2.1 and ITSM for Amadeus. Scanned data as per requirement from entire network and populate it in CMDB. Programming and administrating ARSystem. I was also responsible for several small ARS based bespoke module development for specific needs of the client which are not available as part of Remedy ITSM suite of products.

BMC Atrium CMDB (Configuration Management Database system):

CMDB is a data infrastructure made up of several components that allow different applications to publish and share IT infrastructure data. CMDB provides a single source of truth (golden copy) for IT environment, thus ensuring a consistent approach to maintaining IT processes, such as problem, change, configuration, asset, and service impact management. It provides the best-practice process structure and control specified by key industry standards, such as ITIL. In short, it is the solution to maintain accurate configuration data that is shared by multiple IT processes. CMDB holds the data about Configuration items and the relationship amongst them.

Responsibility: Installing, configuring customizing ITSM, ARS and CMDB with all combination of OS and with all combinations of databases. Adding automation scripts in Rhino Java and Perl scripts. Running automation suite, analyzing problems, filing defects, keeping track of Bug life cycle, working close with development team to find the root cause of defect. Writing feature test plan, designing test cases. Helping dev team to reproduce the customer escalations. I Did installation testing, integration testing, functionality testing, regression testing, UI testing, endurance testing in this project. Worked closely with support and dev team in solving customer escalation.

I was rewarded with “Certification of appreciation” from Sr. QA Manager for maintaining internal QA lab server grade machines. Responsibilities included were installation of OS (Windows & *NIX), Installation of Database Server & client Oracle, SQL, DB2, Sybase on Windows as well as UNIX. Installation of Web servers JBoss, IIS, Apache. Creating VMWare slices for windows. Keeping track of Machine booking. Solving network issues. I was involved in functional testing, regression testing, Components testing (performance monitor), Serial & Parallel Port testing, up gradation testing, Plug and Play devices testing, Power Management testing (Hibernation, Standby, and Reboot), Compatibility testing (device is tested across various port standards) windows registry testing and filing defects.
