Short Bio:

Damien is considered a pioneer in Mobile and Digital Media. Offering over 15 years’ experience at Senior and Executive levels with some of the world’s leading blue chip companies (IBM, Ericsson Hutchison, and Nokia). His extensive experience spans from cutting his teeth in the embryonic mobile data business in the 1990’s with IBM, to driving global application and media businesses with Nokia.
Along the way he has been a consultant with Ericsson Consulting, advising retail (Virgin, Tesco), mobile & fixed operators and consortiums (bidding for 3G licences) on their services strategy (MVNO vs MNO) . Built the world’s first 3G network with Hutchison Whampoa, before moving to Nokia where he was in instrumental in the development of Nokia’s online mobile services globally (Download, Nokia App Store, Music, Messaging and Location).

At Huchison He initiated their highly successful managed services and wholesale division which enabled the new network to tap into the growing and lucrative premium rate and wholesale industry which has now developed into MVNOs using the 3 Network, today this still remains a cash rich business.

Upon moving to Nokia, Damien was instrumental in the development and commercial activity behind Nokia's app stores and is passionate about consumer engagement and analytics to drive deeper user experiences his team developed Nokia’s Download services globally to rapidly achieve multi-million revenues (€106M) per quarter, with an addressable market of over +300M users, and over 5M downloads per day.

More recently as Director, Market Development for all Nokia Online and Mobile Services (OVI App Store, Music, Messaging and Maps), Damien drove Nokia Services globally to achieve exponential consumer engagement to 11M downloads a day within 7 months.
Since leaving Nokia Damien has been consulting to innovative companies in both Mobile and Media.
