I am hoping that you can find the time to look through my CV and this short bio.

I’m writing to you to offer my services in response to any general workers vacancy's. As a young, enthusiastic and a confident employee, I feel that I could be an asset to any administrative or customer service based job role. Your advertisement appealed to me as I have a vast amount of skills that can be applied to any job role. I have a vast amount of customer service experience and office employment. I relish the opportunity of working under pressure and busy, I have good organization and time skills, a driving licence and transport.

I am currently looking for temporary work as I have returned to the UK for a few months after living in Spain.

Hopefully having read through this letter you will continue to my CV to look at my previous employers I have attained over the last four years. I have two previous managers from previous jobs who’d be very willing to supply you with positive references.

Work Experience:

House of Fraser

March ’08 – September ‘08

Role & Responsibilities

Running the small electrical department including selling, customer care, organising the display and demonstrating the products. The role needed good communication skills, understanding customers needs and maintaining the company image. I left House of Fraser for a new job with more money.


September ’08 – June ‘09

Role & Responsibilities

At HelpHire I was an operations advisor. My duties included being the first port of call for victims of accidents. It my job to talk with clients and to asses claims liability and the way forward. The role was very customer friendly and was necessary to have a very good telephone manner and understanding the customer’s needs. Sadly I was made redundant late June.

Farrington Golf Club

June ’09 – August ’09

Role & Responsibilities

My position was a temporary summer vacancy, I worked behind the bar serving customers and making sure everyone was comfortable and happy.

Greenhouse Graphics

September ’09 – November ‘09

Role & Responsibilities

General graphic design duties for my father’s business. Including phone work, proofing and postage.

American Conservation Experience

January ’10 – April ‘10

Role & Responsibilities

For four months I worked in Arizona USA as a volunteer. I worked for 12 weeks and got to see fantastic sights and meet new people. I worked on such sights as the Grand Canyon and the Pacific Crest trail in California. My role as a volunteer would be mainly manual labour, building fences and planting, and generally conserving wildlife. I very much enjoyed my time in America and was sad to leave.

Archers Marquees

June ’10 – September ’10

Role & Responsibilities

For three months I worked erecting marquees at festivals and weddings. This was only a temporary summer job that I managed to get through a friend. My job was mainly manual labour lifting and setting up equipment, I did this four days a week. It was exhausting but rewarding.

Bath RUH Appointment Centre

September ’10 – March ’11

For the seven months I worked at the RUH I met some fantastic people and worked very hard. My main roles and responsibilities were to arrange consultations at the hospital for patients who had been referred from their local General Practitioner, my job was to have access to Doctors schedules and I would arrange appointments around them. I’d also have to sort referrals from local treatment centres and organize patients for their first consultation. I left the job as I wanted to travel again and I didn’t feel there was much chance of progression.

Widcombe Surgery

September ‘11 – August ‘12

After travelling Spain for 5 months I starting my employment as an administrative assistant and occasional reception cover at Widcombe Surgery. My main duties are dealing with patient’s prescription requests, making appointments both in person and over the phone and dealing with patients’ medical records. I currently work 38 hours a week, I both lock up the surgery and open up in the morning every other day. I left my position at Widcombe Surgery as my role was only temporary and I would like to pursue a career.

Olympic Steward

August ‘12 – September ‘12

For a month I worked as a steward at the London 2012 Olympic games, the position was only temporary. My job role was to direct tourists to event venues and enforce general park rules. I had a great time at the Olympics and considered it a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Bath RUH Directors’ Office

February ‘13 – Present

I am currently employed as an administrative assistant in the Directors’ office at the Bath RUH. My main job role is to provide administrative support to the non-executive directors of the hospital and the main directors of finance and nursing, this varies from writing board papers to general data inputting and organizing schedules. Although I am relishing the opportunity of this employment, I would prefer employment on a permanent basis and offering a new challenge.

I’ve recently spent 5 months doing volunteer work in Spain, picking fruit in Malaga and working in a hostel in Seville, both for two months.
