RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Coordinate the activities of assigned Instrument Technicians, providing work instructions, advice and guidance. Work as a job site leader to coordinate with other craft leaders.

 To receive assignments, work orders and permits to work from Instrument Engineer, examines faulty electronic or pneumatic instrumentation, establishes requirements, i.e. tools, parts and length of time, and plans layout and procedures for repair, modification, replacement or calibration.

 Installs, maintains, modifies and repairs a variety of electronic and pneumatic instrumentation on site or workshop, using a variety of tools and test equipment. Work includes the configuration, dismantling and repairing of components such as electronic cards and replacing defective parts such as relays, integrated circuits and transmitters.

 Carry out routine preventive maintenance and checking of all instrumentation Includes cleaning, lubricating, testing and reassembling of all equipment, reporting operating conditions and faults to the Instrument Engineer. Performs preventive maintenance on major safety and shutdown systems

 Carry out minor modifications work and troubleshooting on electronic instrumentation in the assigned area. Includes following electronic diagrams, checking loops, checking logic diagrams and carrying out any necessary repairs and or repairing switches, carrying out modifications, for example, adding protection systems, checking and calibrating shutdown systems and checking microprocessors in various process or utilities instrumentation units. Reports all faults and identifies requirements for major overhauls.

 Testing, calibration and reinstallation of all repaired electronic, electrical and mechanical instrumentation, ensuring the accuracy of operation, and that all instrumentation is synchronized in conjunction with the Process Control Rooms.

 Carry out safety procedures, ensuring that all work sites are secured and prepared in accordance with work permits that all work is carried out in accordance with safety procedures including equipment isolations.

 Carry out troubleshooting on line equipment and during startups to ensure maximum up time of the equipment.

 Performs servicing, condition monitoring, fault diagnosis and restorative tasks on Pneumatic and PLC based ESD systems.

 Carry out calibration, servicing, condition monitoring, fault diagnosis and restorative tasks on metering system, ball type Prover and associated equipments.

 Conducts in-house training on various systems to elevate job knowledge of technicians.

 Carry out other similar or related duties such as completing maintenance log books and work orders; acting as a team leader on major work assignments etc

 Performs Emergency Response Role as required by company.

 Maintain good communication between the Maintenance team and Operation team. Update daily maintenance / shutdown reports & discuss technical issues with Instrument engineering team. Update daily maintenance and send completed job cards to Instrument Engineers / Planner to enter in to the maintenance management system (CMMS Maximo V7.1).

Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs), Fire Fighting & First aid, Hazardous Area Classification, Emergency Rescue Plan, Hazard Spotting, Work permits system (PTW), Lock-Out and Tag-Out Procedure. Create safety awareness by promoting safety meetings, presentations, and open forum discussions.
