Moby Media Group (a sister concern of News Corporation) is rapidly expanding media conglomerate that owns & operates several satellite television channels, FM radio stations, media production companies, media buying houses and information technology businesses in Middle East and emerging markets of South Asia. Working closely with the Group CFO & the Country Head, my major responsibilities include:

  • Using financial/accounting information to undertake statistical, cost and financial analysis on past performances, forecasting and projections. Prepare deviation analysis (Actual vs. Budget) for periodic management reporting purpose.
  • Prepare Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA) reports and sales variance reports for constant monitoring, evaluation and analysis of each category of the channels.
  • Played an important role as part of the team planning & executing a large scale, cross-functional merger between Moby Group & News Corp. Ensuring post-merger integration of Group systems and procedures with News Corp’s global standards.
  • Working closely with production, sales & marketing teams to ensure efficient execution of the budgets and forecast commitments, including communication to management of both progress towards attainment and plans to effect course corrections as necessary.
  • Facilitating the process of decision making through rigorous cost and revenue analysis, thus providing in-depth intelligence on the issues under consideration.
  • Periodic and ad-hoc financial reporting to foreign funding agencies for all the on-going grants / contracts.
  • Afghan Premier League – Prepared and implemented tight budgetary control system for one of the largest and most significant projects in the history of Afghan sports. Worked closely with operational departments and the top management ensuring strategic and financial success of the project.
  • Part of the core team which successfully implemented Microsoft Dynamics AX2012.
  • Led a team of production management department implementing ScheduAll (Media facilities management software), thus enabling the most efficient utilization of human and technical resources.
