Short Bio:

My engineering career started in Otis Elevators (lift company) and progressed to Decoma Merplas, part of the set up at Halewood, Liverpool involving painting parts for Jaguar cars and Freelander/Range Rover vehicles and continued to my present empolyer, MR Engineering. I am a regular visitor to India (3 times in 2014) and wish to live and work there.

Maintenance Technician/ Mechanical Team Leader

Duties: Started as a fitter, then set up mechanical maintenance dept. and was promoted to Team Leader (18 months), responsible for 3 shift pattern, budget and supervising/buy off contractors work, then promoted to Quality Supervisor (12 months), then transferred to maintenance department in July 2004 (same salary) ahead of major conveyor/plant extension to take Toyota and Freelander business. Mechanical Maintenance Team Leader, gained experience dealing with contractors and being responsible for the Buy Off. Also wrote the Work Instructions for the Mechanical Maintenance and passed QS 9000 audit with “flying colours”. As Team Leader responsible for paint plant conveyors, pumps, fans, carriers and respective budgets. Initiatives to enhance operational performance, and save costs, e.g. Vibration Analysis. Encouraged C.I.s (Continuous Improvements) and lateral thinking. Personally responsible for the design and fabrication of the multi-purpose carrier (used to spray parts with robots), which is now in standard use at Decoma. Personally responsible for team that replaced mild steel conveyors with stainless steel conveyors in robot booths through Easter Bank Holiday, carrying out the welding myself.
