Key Experience Includes

• Directly managing a team of 15 skilled and semi-skilled technicians set out in a 4 tiered rank structure, responsible for various systems within the Command and Information department in order to meet the overall Command aim.

• Influencing members of senior management in the form of technical briefs regarding system performance to determine future availability and the effect on Operational Capability (OC).

• Attending regular meetings regarding METS (Manpower, Equipment, Training, and Sustainability) to ascertain requirements and to highlight any shortcomings.

• Planning, executing and evaluating routine maintenance of various Electrical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic and Electronic based systems ranging from day to day, to long term periodicity using Maintenance Management Systems such as UMMS, AMOS and SAP.

• Liaising with external authorities in order to implement changes to systems by contractor support.

Other

• Providing duty of care as line manager for 16 trainees during their training course. Tasked with looking after their welfare as well as having those difficult conversations with those who were underperforming at times culminating in issuing verbal and written warnings as appropriate.

• Performed annual staff appraisals, ensuring guidance and relevant training was provided for career enhancement.

• Acted as the head of the administration team for various IT systems, both Restricted and Secret classification, ensuring systems were available for a minimum 95% time to end users.

• Conducted day to day administration and maintenance including backup of data for the main IT infrastructure for up to 200 users in order to provide maximum functionality 24/7 when in areas of operation.

• Carrying out the role of Information Technology Security Officer (ITSO) to conduct security spot checks as required and also to ensure compliance of Security Operating Procedures (SYOPS) by system users.

• Teaching Digital techniques, Microprocessors and Maths to students as part of their career course for promotion.

• Appointed as the Senior Flight Deck Officer (FDO). Mentored and trained probationary FDO’s up to fully trained strength in order to provide maximum Air Operational capability for the current asset.

• Responsible for the accountability and maintenance of high value assets in excess of £6m

• Performed duties as Team Leader which included conducting safety briefs and local training as required.
