Career Summary

Area QA/QC Lead for Energy, Material Handling & General Site Services
Reporting directly to the QA/QC Coordinator, specific responsibilities were:
o Ensure implementation of the Project Quality Management System.
o Overseeing implementation of contractors Quality Assurance Plan at site
o The management of a team of inspectors, coordinating RFI requests from contractors and delegating accordingly within the team.
o To review all Quality documentation submitted by contractors for approval; Quality Assurance Plans, Quality Procedures, Inspection & Test Plans, completed History Documents etc.
o Produce weekly reports highlighting any significant concerns and also milestones achieved.
o Issue NCR’s & CAR’s respectively ensuring follow up. Also providing weekly updates to the exceptions administrator.
o Carry out audits with contractors ensuring Quality Assurance Plan and project procedures and specifications are being followed and implemented.
o Attend weekly progress meetings with all designated packages raising any significant quality concerns.
o Attend kick-off meetings with contractors. Attend all EHS safety meetings.
o Provide support/assistance/advice to inspectors of all disciplines.
o Coordinate with engineering/construction team, providing necessary assistance with regards to quality objectives.
o Attend FAT at different vendors worldwide.
o Deputise for QA/QC Coordinator in the event of absence.

Reporting directly to the construction manager, my responsibilities were:
o Attending daily E&I construction meetings with supervisors of all disciplines to discuss progress, on-site issues and any safety aspects.
o Attending weekly safety meetings and toolbox talks on a daily basis.
o Reviewing & approving method statements & risk assessments submitted by contractor.
o Ensuring all drawings used at site are of the latest revision.
o Provide technical support/guidance to the contractor with all aspects of installation.
o Organise all material/tools/specialist machinery, the set-up of on-site fabrication shop and all temporary lighting and power where required.
o Responsible for on-site power either by RMU or generator.

Reporting directly to the construction manager, my responsibilities were:
o Attending weekly meetings with other area supervisors discussing any on-site installation issues, progress and any potential safety hazards or issues.
o Review/approval of PTW’s Method Statements & Risk Assessments submitted by contractors.
o Responsible for organising all materials, tools and specialized equipment/machinery required.
o Ensure all temporary power on-site is maintained, install any new power where required. Assist with the set-up of any on-site fabrication shop/facilities.
o Ensure contractors have the required staff level for all activities to include cable containment installation, cable pullers and general labourers etc.
o Constantly liaise with package engineers and QA/QC department should either be of a concern.
o Ensure all drawings used by the contractor are of the latest revision.
o Provide any required assistance or technical support to the contractor when required.
o Attend daily toolbox talks and provide any support when necessary.
o Organise weekly work plans and submit to the construction coordinator.
o Ensure contractor is working in a safe manner, adhering to all safety procedures.
o Ensuring the highest of quality and standards were maintained throughout the installation at all times.

SNC Lavalin (M&M), EMAL Smelter Complex Project Abu Dhabi UAE (Phase 1)
Senior Electrical QA/QC Inspector for Infrastructure & Material Handling
Reporting directly to the QA/QC Supervisor, responsibilities were:
o Ensure that all ITPs are followed by the contractors for all packages.
o Ensure all specifications, procedures and approved drawings are being implemented at site.
o Liaise with the construction/engineering department to resolve any issues that arise through inspection/surveillance.
o Carry out inspections on incoming materials as per engineering approval also ensuring they are free from defect.
o Witness all testing conducted by contractor; insulation resistance, Hi-Pot, HV, continuity etc.
o Attend weekly progress meetings highlighting any quality concerns that have risen through inspection or patrol. Attend EHS crew meetings on a weekly basis.
o Issue NCR/CAR to contractor when specification/procedure has not been followed. Ensuring follow up and close out. Raise, follow up and close deficiencies.
o Provide assistance/guidance with contractor with any part of installation.
o Prepare daily construction quality control surveillance reports.
o Review completed history dockets submitted by contractor.

Reporting directly to the construction manager, my responsibilities were:
o Organise tools, materials and any specialised machinery required to carry out the installation.
o Ensure contractor is following the latest revision of drawings.
o Ensure all project specifications and procedures and safety requirements are being met by the contractor.
o Arrange PTW and any other electrical/mechanical permit from British Steel to conduct any work in brown field areas.
o Review method statements & risk assessments for their approval.
o Coordinate with other team supervisors providing support/guidance with installation.
o Responsible for the set-up of temporary facilities; site offices, fabrication shop etc.
o Responsible for all manning levels in all assigned areas.
o Attend all weekly progress meetings with client.
o Submit daily work plan activity, daily toolbox talks and weekly progress report meetings.

o Liaise with Quality department regarding quality issues, relating to inspection.

Electrical QA/QC Inspector for Reduction, Carbon & Casthouse
Reporting directly to the Quality Supervisor, my responsibilities were:
o Prepare ITP’s with the involvement of construction superintendent.
o Ensure all related method statements were approved prior to any installation at site.
o Review all documentation related to FAT for the supply of any electrical panels, switchgear, distribution panels etc. from the contractor prior to installation and ensuring any comments are adhered to.
o Inspect all incoming materials supplied by contractor for any defects ensuring materials conform to engineering approval.
o Carry out daily inspections as per hold, witness & patrol points for various contractors as per approved ITP’s.
o Raise punch list at during inspection and submit to construction and the contractor for close out.
o Issue NCR/CAR if contractor failed to follow specification/procedure and ensure follow up and close out.
o Attend weekly meetings with various disciplines, highlighting any quality concerns.
o Attend weekly safety meetings.
