Transact Engineering Ltd - Electrical Manager - 2011 - December 2011
Employed as Electrical Manager with authority over the company’s electrical policies, quotations and designs. Responsible for designing, installing, commissioning and maintaining bespoke product and cargo handling equipment such as scissor lifts, conveyor beds and truck docks within a fully automated environment, including PLC driven equipment, variable frequency drives, invertors, human machine interfaces and various instrumentation and switches. Acting as the client’s first point of contact and liaising with the client with regards to new and ongoing projects. Trained customer personnel in all aspects of the installation. Responsible for functional design specifications, factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing and all associated documentation. Produced planned preventative maintenance systems and ensured correct maintenance procedures were implemented to satisfy several ongoing contracts, including responding to machine and system breakdowns in a fast moving automated environment. Operated a 24 hour call out cover.

Working within a fast paced maintenance environment, duties included responding to electrical problems and breakdowns, servicing electrical systems and equipment and carrying out periodic testing and inspecting on city centre apartments, suburban flats and houses. Also reacted to more general maintenance issues including plumbing and joinery problems and alterations.
Electrical Contractor - March 2010 - August 1020
Contracting within the industrial, commercial and domestic sectors including several months with Black & Veatch on the Davyhulme Wastewater Treatment Works as Competent Person Supervisor. Required to supervise other electrical contractors as well as issue the appropriate permits, including Permits to Work, Sanctions to Test, and Electrical Disconnection Certificates. Authorised to isolate equipment and areas and, when needed, to work live. Also worked on commercial and domestic projects including shop re-fits, full house re-wires and outdoor lighting projects.
Lintott Control Systems - Electrician - September 1997 - February 2010
Reporting to the Operations Manager, acted as the only Electrician based at the Runcorn office and was responsible for all aspects of installation of chemical dosing systems within the water industry at sites throughout the UK. This included the manufacturing of chemical dosing rigs, test and inspection of all installations, and any post installation rectification work and certification. Commissioned electrical systems and calibrated instruments and data reading equipment, and uploaded parameters on Human Machine Interfaces. Built and wired control panels and motor control centres and installed cabling and equipment including Programmable Logic Controllers, Variable Speed Drives, motors, pumps, and various instrumentation within the utilities, petro-chemical, power generation, and nuclear industries. Undertook fault finding and modification work on existing equipment. Mechanical installation work including PVC and polypropylene fabrication and welding, pipefitting and the installation of large scale static mixers within a confined space.
During this employment was TUPE transferred twice, initially from SLS Engineering Ltd (Electrical Apprenticeship) and then from Tyco Control Systems.
