Career History

Covering Operations Manager – Openreach MWF (Present)

Short/Long term cover of Managerial duties of a Mobile Workforce team of Engineers including:

  • Motivate and Manage performance within the team, identify areas of improvement and maximise revenue, customer satisfaction and efficiency.
  • Responsible for a wide range of issues such as discipline, attendance, security awareness and leadership
  • Act as a role model and SME promoting the values and behaviour required in and out of the public environment.
  • Maintain control and communication of Engineers over a large geographical area.
  • Follow up and resolve eViper issues and investigate, if needed the cause and identify areas which need to be addressed as a result.
  • Conduct Safety and Quality checks in line with the appropriate ISIS Documents. File the checks on FPQ/NASA.
  • Use systems such as CSS and WM Live on a day to day basis.
  • Ensure the correct training is undertaken by team members including any shortfalls to enable the delivery of effective results.
  • Authorise all hours worked throughout the week on time in line with policy.

Customer Services Engineer – Openreach MWF (Present)

Working as part of the Mobile Workforce in provision, maintenance and repair tasks on the Copper and FTTx networks.

  • Responsible for installation, demonstration, repair and testing of Overhead/UG PSTN/Network/Fibre installations on the Openreach access network.
  • Use latest fault finding techniques and testing aids such as OTDR, Light source and Power Meters, JDSU, HAWK and EXFO
  • Government vetting up to SC clearance allowing access to Closed User Groups, MOD facilities, Government facilities and facilities containing sensitive information.
  • Provide training when required on a range of skills to a wide range of audiences.
  • Responsible for self-administration, expenses, vehicle including maintenance and testing, training and pursuit of Professional Development.
  • Ensuring Health & Safety standards are met by visitors and employees, which include risk assessment and reports.

Telecommunications Technician Manager (Aug 03 – Jan 11)

  • City & Guilds 6156 Unit 2 – New RASWA (Signing, Lighting and Guarding).
  • BTEC Advanced Award in Access Networks Systems (Level 3)
