Projects for which I was responsible:

*Requena Conference Centre phase I-B, Valencia, Spain, €0,344M

The main activities consisted of laying the foundation and building the reinforced concrete walls (≈1.100 m2), also laying the sewerage, water, electricity, telephone network, etc.

*Housing Development (Rio Magro), Valencia, Spain, €0,431M.

The main works consisted of the groundwork, laying the water, telephone, street lighting and electricity ducts, sewerage and the tarmac, etc.

Main duties included:
  • Estimating the budget and timescales required to undertake the project.
  • Appointing subcontractors after making a comparison between quotations received.
  • Regular communication with clients and consultants to deal with both the day to day work and any unexpected problems.
  • Overseeing the construction project to ensure it all assigned work is completed on time and within agreed budgets.
  • Proposing changes in the project in order to reduce the cost, what led to a significant increase in profit.
01/07–07/07    Supervisor for RENOS

Projects and main tasks in which I was involved:

*Urbanization of the beach area in Gandia, Valencia, Spain, €2,5M
  • Communicating with subcontractors.
  • Supervision of both the measurement and the quality of the construction process.
  • Controlling specifications and preparation of timesheets for staff and machinery.
  • Responsibility for the monitoring of the quality control, filling out every all the paperwork required by ISO 9001.
10/05–09/06    Part time internship for CARECO, Department of Quality Control.

This company specialises in construction of residential houses of high standard, installing facilities such as water heated with sun energy, roller blinds with electronic devices, (CCTV – closed circuit television for homes linked to the internet etc.

Main duties included:
  • Responsible for ensuring that all activity complied with regulatory requirements, with   respect to Health and Safety
  • Responsibility for the monitoring of quality control and completion of paperwork required by ISO 9001.
10/04–09/05    Part time internship for TORRES-CAMARA as a Junior Quantity Surveyor.

The majority of the time spent with this company I participated in the tender process for road construction, housing development and residential buildings projects but I also participated in the tender process for sport facilities and industrial buildings.

Main tasks included:
  • Estimating costs and construction scheduling.
  • Suggesting technical improvement in order to reduce the cost, the work time or to increase the quality of the work.
  • Preparing documents for tenders and supporting the senior with any unforeseen work.
