General Job Scope Summary:

• Attend ship survey locally as well as overseas to submit technical report to owner to review,

discuss responsibilities matrix together with Project managers, commercial and engineering team as required.

• As lead electrical marine & offshore engineer, lead a team of other engineers, foremen, supervisors and Sub-contractors in ship conversion/upgrade projects in accordance with specified requirements within the scheduled time frame.

• Reviews supplier / vendors & engineering deliverables inclusive of engineering drawings, equipments and consumables to carry out specific projects and also to ensure they comply with the contract specification.

• Represents the (Discipline) Production / Project – department in technical meetings and discussion with clients.

• Ensures the safety of personnel through compliance with Occupational Safety and Health and Environmental Regulations.

Discipline Skills Summary:

Below is the summary of lead engineer scope of work which I am currently required to execute within specific time frame after project awarded.

1. Project Management

• Review tender documents, create responsibility matrix list, vessel inspection report (if any), project organization chart.

• Plan manpower for both yard and Sub-Contract work force to be deployed for conversion and New Built projects.

• Discuss with company planners to identify solution to meet project objective.

• Prepare progress summary and discipline man hour summary on weekly basis for

owner and internal project team review and approval for project report.

• Prepare specification summary and after discussion with Contracts team together with Engineering inputs to invite Sub-Contractors to participate in the project.

• Sub-Contractors selection such as comparison list summary, interview and prepare documentation such as works order.

• Participate in Vendors’ selection together with Engineering & Contracts team.

• Coordinate with project manager to review the planning schedule and deliverables.

• Prepare minutes of meetings.

• Prepare change notification and site queries to relevant parties; such as Engineering, Clients’ Site team.

• Prepare project tools requirement list such as daily, weekly, monthly and overall look ahead of project to identify upcoming critical path and mile stones to be met as per requirements.

2. Procurement Follow up

• Meet up with various vendors to explain project requirements.

• Review all vendor compliance and prepare selection summary for individual system.

• Review MTO / MEO list of procurement.

• Key in SAP system for procurement requisition & works order.

• Coordinate with company material handlers and buyers for the deliverables.

• Request for vendor certified data for engineering process as well as project requirements.

• Prepare, Attend and do Inspection of equipment system during FAT and MVR

(Material verification process) along with company QAQC.

3. Engineering Co-Ordination

• Liaise with engineering to review 2D or 3D model.

• Review & comment existing vessel drawings.

• Review & Comment new general arrangement drawings for space and construction requirement.

• Review & Comment basic design philosophy such as various interface study, cable routing, cable trunk and other critical machinery spaces arrangements.

• Review & Comment design calculation such as load list / lighting Lux requirement.

• Review & Comment demolition drawings (in conversion scope) to Engineering team and owners.

• Study, review Cause & Effect diagram for systems like ESD, F&G, HVAC and their interface.

• Study , review & Comment on cable block diagram, layout drawings, single line, loop diagram

and termination diagram.

• Study & review cable schedule, equipment list and instrument index list for any clashes or discrepancies against actual SGL (Single Line diagrams) and termination diagrams.

• Study, review IO list together with engineering team to establish information completeness and equipment’s self sufficiency.

• Review P&ID & D&ID for inter discipline tie-ins.

• Prepare and send site queries to concerned engineering team.

• Review, Comment and raise queries if any on commissioning check list to engineering team / vendors prior and during commissioning.

• Prepare As-Built drawing / documents for final submission to Engineering teams and owner for preparation of final Dossier.

4. Construction

• Conduct Kick-off meeting and presentation for site sub-contractors to go through the requirements of related project before work start.

• Vessel detail inspection during docking.

• Attend daily VSCC (Vessel Safety Committee Meeting) meeting on board.

• Coordinate with site project / area mangers to monitor site progress.

• Solve any clash and system function issues on board.

• Planning, execution & review of daily, weekly, monthly progress in order to improve overall schedule.

• Plan and execute critical activities such as Heavy lifting of electrical equipments, Hi-Pot Tests, Switchboard energizing, Kick-start of generators, critical machinery alignment.

• Support project team in analyzing additional job requirements.

• Overseas travel involved if any incomplete jobs are to be carried over to actual site.

5. MC/EC & Commissioning

• Conduct internal inspection of completed works: Installed system on board against current approved drawings before presenting to Company QAQC / Clients and Class.

• Support commissioning team during M/E completion and commissioning phase.

• Support owners & class site surveyor during inspections and commissioning.

• Involved in planning and execution of vessel’s sea trails.
