I am responsible for performing maintenance on offshore metering systems. This includes monthly maintenance and also fault finding. I have also been involved in commissioning of new equipment Including:

• Commissioning Coriolis metering systems replacing turbine metering.

• USM metering of gas systems upgrade

• Commissioning of Daniels chromatographs

• Commissioning of Innov H2S analsyers.

June 2008 – Dec 2008 – Exxon St Fergus gas terminal

I worked as part of a metering team to perform general maintenance of the Gas terminal at St Fergus. As well as this some procedure writing was also carried out. Work was performed on a variety of Equipment including:

• Orifice Plate measurement

• Turbine Meter measurement

• H2S analysis

• Chromatograph

• Sampling Systems

April 2007 – May 2008 – Ad-hoc work (various North sea platforms)

I performed an Ad-hoc role for Metco working on many different offshore platforms in the North Sea maintaining metering systems and upgrade projects. As well as this I provided metering technician cover at St Fergus and Theddlethorpe gas terminals. Some time was spent in various client offices performing procedure and drawing reviews of work packs and P&ID’s.

April 2005 – March 2007 – Conocophillips Judy Platform.

I continued my modern apprenticeship in an offshore environment learning from both the metering Technician and the instrument technicians to complete my SVQ level 3’s in instrumentation and Metering. This took approximately 1 year after which time I worked as part of the Metering and instrument team maintaining the platform instruments and metering systems.

September 2003 – March 2005 ECITB Modern Apprenticeship (OPITO)

I attended Aberdeen College as the first part of my apprenticeship to gain the required qualification needed for my career in the offshore oil and gas industry.
