OTHER EXPERIENCE

I have conducted inspections and sampling visits both as a lone officer or working with a colleague and have dealt with an array of attitudes towards myself, Environmental Health, the Local Authority and the Government as a whole, I have learnt how to stay calm and reasonable under pressure. I worked in the private sector prior to joining the Local Authority so have experience in both worlds and understand the difference between them.

I am a Graduate Member of Chartered Institute of Environmental Health and an Associate Member of Royal Society for Public Health. I have a full driving license.

PERSONAL INTERESTS

I enjoy new challenges. In 2008 I walked the Inca Trail in Peru, I have white water rafted, and have recently learnt to Stand Up Paddle Board and I can also kayak.  I enjoy swimming and do it most days. I have recently completed my pool dives and theory PADI scuba diving course and would like to do my open water dives soon. In the future I also hope to learn to sail.

I enjoy travelling and have visited many different countries. In October 2014 I visited Hawaii and travelled alone. I enjoy learning new skills and gaining new qualifications and would enjoy the opportunity to be able to continue my education.
