Day to Day:

• Accountable for the project being a success so main point of contact for Suppliers, Operations, Sales & Marketing, Finance, etc

• Responsible for: Setting sales strategy plan / revenue forecasts / identifying risk factors / maximising market opportunities and drive innovation.

• Proactively seeking and generating new business to maximising conversion rates

• Regular competitor and target market trends analysis to keep the finger on the pulse!

• Responding promptly to sales enquiries ensuring a same day response

• Conducting site visits with existing and prospective clients

• Attend and exhibit at industry networking events

Team Work:

• Effective communication with in-house operations and FOH team

• Providing support to Sales and Marketing Team

• Chairing weekly ‘BEO’ management meetings with all departments

• Team management and leadership – setting targets and incentives to drive my team

• Monitoring progress and strategy solutions with the team to develop performance

• To work in close collaboration with sales and marketing to produce effective marketing material

After 8 years building up my experience within the Industry I decided to use my experience to work as a freelancer in the London and Hampshire area working on the Business Development and Project Management of a variety of exciting private projects.

My role was to put strategies in place to maximise market opportunities and actively seek and grow new and existing business to generate results.

The Capital Hotel – Knightsbridge, London

Senior Events Manager September 2011 – January 2013

My role was to develop, manage and increase the variety of different Event Projects that are hosted at The Capital which included corporate projects, fundraising events, private projects, fashion launches and client entertaining. During my time at The Capital I managed to double the size of the Events Business and hence achieving the hotel’s goal.

Altitude offers three ultra-modern, high class venues that can host a variety of events whilst offering fantastic 360 degree views over London. Each individual space has an assigned Events Manager. My role as Senior Events Manager was to oversee and manage the venue as a whole. Projects included: Wedding Celebrations, Charity Events for the Corporate, Fashion and Sport Industry and many Special Occasions.

The International Business Development Group is a specialist business development consultancy. My role as Delegate Manager was to head up the Delegate Executives Events team. The Delegate team are responsible for booking Directors from the top 750 International Corporate Companies to attend IBDG Strategy Meeting Events. This role helped develop my Sales Management Skills and gain strong experience of Team management.

Namco is a corporate ‘big boys’ playground with many different sized event spaces that host a variety of corporate entertainment events! My job was to run and manage the Event Management side of Namco Station and be the face of Namco Station events! This role was very much ‘a hands on role’ that made me learn and gain ‘events world’ experience very quickly!

I was lucky enough to meet the right person at the right party to land this Event role that exposed me to many high profile events where I learned the initial skills you need to be a successful Events Manager. Let’s just say I had a great coach who I supported and shadowed over many high profile projects and events in Sydney!
