• Checking plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy of calculations.

• Coordinate between the project parties including but not limited to Employer, EPC Contractors for Power Plants (BoP) and OEM Suppliers for GTG / Transformer sets.

• Efficient maintenance planning in cooperation with the maintenance engineers, ensure high availability and reliability at minimum cost.

• Provide services to the established CMM System in order to enable maintenance departments perform their duties in cost efficient and time saving manner in the use of staff and material resources.

• Interface with the Procurement and Stores Officer for the procurement and maintenance of spare parts and materials using an automated inventory control system to maintain plant operations.

• Follow-up of daily generated work orders and writes the necessary engineering instructions and ensure the availability of needed drawings.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Main Consultant for the National Integrated Power Project (NIPP) for the design and construction of the Power Plants (Open Cycle and Combined Cycle) at Alaoji. It is my responsibility to:-

• Prepare of Contract Documents namely; Contract Agreements, Request for Proposal (RfP), Advance Payment Guarantee (APG), Performance Bond, Price Breakdown, Project Schedule, Critical Milestone Schedule, Minutes of Meeting, Payment Schedule, Variation Order Request.

• Vetting and tracking of all project technical documents from Contractors.

• Coordination and participation in contract negotiation meetings for Alaoji Power Plant Phase II, Geregu Power Plant Phase II, Omotosho and Papalanto Power Plant Phase II. Prepares the minute of meetings for review.

• Quality control of projects including participation in the following Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) programmes:

o Factory Acceptance Test for circuit breakers at AREVA T & D, Lyon, France.(16 Nov. 2007).

o Factory Acceptance Test for Steam Turbine Generators at General Electric (GE), Schenectady, New York. USA. (23-24 April 2008, 6 August 2008 and 11-12 September 2008).

o Writing of FAT report.

• Ensure the technical requirements of assigned projects are in full accordance with approved codes and standards and necessary legislative requirements.

• Generates the Monthly Progress Report.

• Supervise inspectors and technicians during project development and construction phases.

• Assist with the development of startup plan, spare parts recommendation and training requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

I am responsible for the maintenance planning of six, 90 megawatts gas turbines and all equipment associated with it, 8 rectifier transformers, and ten 11KV substations, water treatment plant and sewage treatment plant. In order to effectively plan and schedule the maintenance of these equipment; it is my responsibility to

Implement the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).

• Set up and manage an equipment historical database in the CMMS system for all equipment in the field.

• Oversee the implementation of the preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance program.

• Coordinate the spares, materials, resources and logistics required for maintenance activities.

• Estimate labour and material costs before work is started-except for real emergencies. To identify repetitive work and develop standard costs for all such jobs.

• Accumulate labour and material charges for all work orders and report such costs to maintenance and persons authorizing maintenance work.

• Hold a weekly maintenance-planning meeting with the maintenance foremen and supervisors to discuss general maintenance problems including reasons for high maintenance costs, preventive maintenance procedures, cost reduction possibilities and general aspects of the maintenance improvement program.

• Generate the weekly, monthly and annual maintenance reports.

• Monitor and analyze of the performance of plants and equipment. The results of these analyses are used to advise the operation staff and management on the adequacies/deficiencies of the existing maintenance job routine. High cost of maintenance and repetitive failures are investigated and reported

• Train maintenance personnel on the implementation of the CMMS.

• Participate in pre-commissioning inspections for completed projects.
