Job Role: Security Manager

To direct and control the security and safety systems at the base, in order to maximize safety and security of the High Value assets, VIP and VVIP dignitaries, Strategic installations, regular personnel and general public residing at the base camp. Protect public assets and valuable installation from loss and damage. To look after the security of VVIP, VIP suites, officers Mess, Officers residential flats and villas, Air house, facilities at the camp, airmen mess, and airmen residential camps.

Admin/Managerial:

1. Plan and Budget the costs for the security squadron.

2. Create a morale building, constant learning and developing working environment to obtain feedback and design action plan.

3. Write policies and standing operation procedure to achieve high profile cost efficient security to the assets and personnel of the camp/Air Base.

4. Provide expert opinion in induction process according to the requirement of role and task.

5. Annual performance evaluation reports writing/awards and management of the staff in the squadron.

6. Develop and implement security plans time to time according to assets distribution and threat perception.

7. Design, develop training schedules and direct training activities.

8. Evaluate and scrutinize training process and recommend action plan for further improvement.

9. To ensure record keeping, file maintaining, internal and external correspondence and performance appraisal forms submission.

Operational:

1. To prevent insurgency, loss, infiltration and terrorist attacks.

2. To order and conduct investigations regarding unlawful and unprofessional acts.

3. To order and conduct investigation regarding loss and damage to public property, Personnel and PAF.

4. Maintain good liaison with Civil law enforcement agencies Fire department to develop peace time cohesion for unwanted situation in future.

5. Co-ordinate with external agencies for all special security requirements.

6. Ensure compliance with policies, plans and procedures relating to security and crisis situations (Bomb threats, Evacuation, infiltration, mortar attacks, VBIED and suicide bombers Etc.)

7. Review the efficiency of all surveillance and fire systems in the unit and recommend improvements.

8. Ensure that all records and documents are maintained as per the standard operating procedure of the base security plan.

9. Establish an ongoing process for fire prevention and fire security training on the base liaise with base hospital and mechanical transport squadron for rescue and ambulance services.

10. Ensure that all the security operations are in accordance with the management policy and standard principles of Pakistan Air Force.

11. Keep the higher command informed at all times on matters pertaining to security and rescue services.

12. Ensure that the daily parade state report reflects a true picture of all security deployment and operations.

13. Develop departmental trainers in association with the training department & oversee all the training activities within the department

14. Ensure that all personnel of the base abide by the established PAF rules and regulations.

15. Stay informed of the latest amendments in civil/criminal laws. Technological advances in surveillance and safety equipment and continuously improve the current deterrence and surveillance of the Base/Camp.

16. Responsible for overall security and safety operations of the Base and ensuring the procedures, and inspections.
