• The Corporate & Plant management of Somaiya Group wants to have consolidated manufacturing information for their Godavari Biorefineries plants of Sugar, Distillery, Co-gen and Biogas and be made available to them on handheld (iPad) and web through “Manufacturing Dashboard”.

• This information has to be dynamically updated in real-time.

• For operations & maintenance, management wants “Operations Dashboard” and EMS for Cogen covering details of plant operations and maintenance quick drill-downs to enable monitoring of plant performance and related analytics for continuous improvement.

• Designed M2M Solution architecture & created FRS & SRS for EMS, Sugar Plant, Distillery Plant, Biogas Plant, and Thermal Power Plants.

• Project components: Plants PLC’s, Dataloggers, OPC KepServer, OSI PI Historian.

• PI tag & PE tag configuration, backfilling, PI Datalink, PI SMT, PI ICU.

Online Operation & Maintenance Monitoring for VS Lignite Thermal Power Plant.

• The objective of the OOM System was to impact the operation and maintenance at site with extended support from remote expert’s base making it possible to run plant on database decisions and insights obtained through continuous online monitoring.

• The project was “site driven” with head office with the system developed by EcoAxis consisting of online Mimics/Graphics, Reports, E-mail Alerts and Manual entry forms.

Activities:

o Involved in Engineering team for creating and maintaining tag database, installation & configuration of SQL Server, PI-Server 2012, PI AF, PI ACE, PI Notification, PI ProcessBook, PI OLEDB Enterprise, and PI-ICU on interface node, PI-OPC Client.

o Establishing communication with two OPC servers viz. Invensys (DCS) & Rockwell (BOP) through Firewall using DCOM settings.

o Analog and Digital and PE tags configuration on PI server using PI SMT.

o Configuration of e-mails alerts using PI-Notifications in PI System Explorer.

o Configuration of PI AF Server, AF database, elements and its attributes using PI System Explorer

o Installation & configuration of SharePoint and PI-Webportal.

• Using AHP tool for analysis of Public Distribution System India, mechanism of ration delivery, Grain vending Machine was found to be a suitable alternative model for PDS.

• Project involves designing the GVM for increasing the efficiency, transparency and accountability, reducing drudgery and providing flexibility and instalment in withdrawal of the entitlements.

• The project consist of RFID based ration card used for accessing the GVM with a load-cell placed in feedback loop to microcontroller and creating database for user’s and transactions performed.
