Design Process Engineer:

ConocoPhillips Theddelthorpe Gas Terminal Project: Carried out primary feasibility study for the project of replacement flare Fuel gas purge gas with Nitrogen, I carried out the following works:

  • Calculated purge gas rate as per API RP 521.
  • Calculated power consumption of air compressor.
  • Submitted an approach for the gas replacement.
  • Communicated equipment suppliers by emails and through telephone.
  • Help meeting with equipment supplier representative.
  • Submitted a primary feasibility
  • Amended design documents and carried out literature searches for some other projects.
Zeta Technologies (NIG) Ltd.  (30 July 2012– 01 Nov 2012)

Process Engineer/ working as a member of team carrying out Front End Engineer Design (FEED) study for a project to improve an oil field in Nigeria. The project includes drilling four wells, constructing pipelines, oil and gas treatment unit consisting of gas oil separators (GOSP) and gas dehydration unit and gas exporting pipeline. My main task was to develop the PFDs, P&IDs and UFDs.

Process Engineer: Worked on the following two projects:-
  • Valspar coating paints production plant as built P&ID’s project: Site surveying, revising P&ID’s for checking and checking the mechanical schedules.
  • MSD Pre Lab Reactor and Hydrogenator upsizing project: Preparing the mechanical schedules by amending existing ones and creating lists from scratch, providing technical process support for other engineering disciplines, site visit and meeting the client.
South Refineries Company (SRC) (Crude Distillation Unit, Light Distillate Hydrodesulphurization Unit   and Naphtha Catalytic Reforming Unit), Basra, Iraq

Process Engineer, Operations shift work - (Jan 2000 – March 2010)
  • Responsible, technically and administratively, for the three units mentioned above, each individually, supervised operations; startup and shutdown, Monitored key process variables, troubleshooting participated with other groups to optimize the operations and the maintenance.
  • Issued the cold work permits whenever required for the maintenance and coordinating with the safety engineer to issue the hot work permit.
  • Involved in the annual overhaul to review the PFDs, P&IDs, participated HAZOP as a process engineer.
  • Participated in the revamping plans by supporting other disciplines with the required process engineering Information.

  • Provided the Process Engineering support required for the engineering design.
  • P&ID’s modifications for the site and equipment, demolished items and the new connections.
  • Surveyed the site and prepared report about equipment and required quantities of materials.
Shell/Southern Iraq Gas investment, Basra Province: (May 09 – Oct 09).
  • Surveyed the oil and gas sites in Basra province which includes tens of Gas Oil Separation Plants (GOSPs), gas compression stations (CSs) and storage sites and prepared reports about each site.
Kellogg Brown & Root (Feb 05 – May 06)

Process Engineer (Engineering/Site works), Part-time job during my 3 days off of the refinery job.   

As a member of the process engineering team I worked on the following projects:

a) West Qurna GOSP’s 6, 7, 8 and South Rumela Central GOSP

Developed as built P&IDs, plot plans and explanatory sketches, participated in the calculations and prepared the documents for installing new dehydration packages, technical assessment, rehabilitation of existing equipment and piping systems

b) North Rumela NGL Plant

Revising the plant P&ID’s, Burn pit and flare system: developing sketches for the burn pit piping system to repair the damaged tips, DEMI Water unit: developing the required sketches for the tie-in’s, supporting the piping group in specifying the new tie-in.

c)  Central South Rumela CS

Revised and completed the P&ID’s, sketches for the connections with the new burn pit and dehydration unit.

Developed P&ID’s, rehabilitated existing draining system.

National Service: Lance corporal in the Ex-Iraqi Army chemical corps (Jan 1997 – July 1998)

a)  Attended specialized training course about the chemical weapons and how to defend against it.

b)  Presented training sessions for the solders about: types of chemical weapons, using masks and other related protective apparatus, reconnaissance and actions that followed in case of chemical offensive
