Carried out a project work on “Process optimization and First pass yield improvement in PF33 Barrel bore finish” in Bosch Limited, Audugodi , Bangalore.

Benefits of the project:

 First pass yield improvement 91-95%.

 Establishment of Honing process as an alternative process to Lapping.

 Increase in productivity.

 Tool cost reduced Rs.7 per piece.

 Avoidance of frequent tool change.

 Skill level of operator and Measurement errors minimized.

 Process established is environmental friendly, as lapping process which was used earlier is eliminated due to environmental concerns.

 The new process is released for regular production.
