The following contracts I worked on for Dean and Dyball
Newton’s cove sea wall-Supervised the construction of a 600 meter reinforced concrete wave wall in the tidal zone of Weymouth harbour. Including concrete stairs and cover slabs for the area on the back of the wall.
All work done in an SSSI so total consideration for the surrounding environment had to be taken into consideration during production.
Weymouth and Portland Olympic sailing academy- the installation of 35, 35 meter tubular piles of off the self-propelled crane barge within the working harbour and then the construction of a precast jetty placed on top and fixed to insitu pile caps that were reinforced concrete built on a temporary works design. The precast deck units of up to 20 ton in weight were placed by the 75 ton crawler crane and then another reinforced concrete deck poured on top of them to create the finished jetty including up stand walls and access platforms for docking boats and a ringer crane for placing boats into the harbour.
Southampton container terminal- Supervised the construction of the 3rd rail for the new larger container cranes to run on for the offloading of the new wider container ships.
The rail consisted of CFA piles driven every 2 meters and then 3 meter wide reinforced concrete beam built over the top of these piles for the entire length of the 1000 meter quay then reinforced concrete stacking area for the containers to be stacked and collected from by the straddle carriers.
Bransome chime sea defences and out fall pipe-worked as part of the management team to install a 800 meter underwater outfall pipe using a jack up barge and extended slew ring excavators in the splash zone on the beach placing concrete matts to keep the pipe submerged at all times.
Then the construction of 1 rock groynes over the pipe and an additional 6 over the course of the beach area to stop the constant erosion of the beach area.
Sunseeker boat hoist- Managed the installation of 17 metre sheet piles and then concreted the
Piles into a 1.4m wall using efco shutters.

Supervised all the crane movements of the 75 ton crane.
Teignmouth docks – Dock extension for ABP
Widening old key wall by 15 metres over the length of
200 metres using 17 metre sheet piles to face the new wall
Shorter piles for anchor piles which were joined by tie bars

Marchwood military port – jetty and dolphin extension. Supervised all works
Using a jack up barge and 135 tonne crawler crane to install
42 metre long 1100mm diameter steel tubular piles to form

-Additionally installed 20 metre long fender piles to length of

Working along side the Project manager and project engineer these were my duties during the construction of the 600m new quay wall and quay side.
Managing a project from set-up to handover and evaluation
Safeguarding project complementation on time, within budget and in accordance with contract specifications
Setting up a project plan and establishing a project team
-Coordinating project resources to ensure completion on time and within budget
Ensuring project execution in accordance with the project quality control plan and quality requirements in the contract
Ensuring that all works are in accordance with contract specifications
Resolving engineering matters concerning project execution, planning and site queries (in cooperation with the project engineer, work preparation engineer and site engineers)
Informing the project manager on all relevant aspects of construction works in terms of planning, progress, quality, safety and subcontractor performance
-Supervised all lifts with the three cranes on site.
-Supervised the installation of the piled kombi-wall with 1.4m tubular piles and 1.4m sheet piles.
-Supervised all Barge movements under tow of our tug and workboats also all dredging works taking place on the site.
-Supervised the installation of the anchor wall including the tie rods and whaling’s joining the quay wall to the anchor wall.
-Installed the fenders and bollards and all other associated quay furniture.

Supervising the installation of the new rails for the automatic container cranes.
Working for the client D.P World on a York site I am supervising the Sub contractor Downer who are installing the new plates and rail for the cranes to be placed on.
I am in control of all the quality and productivity of the sub-contractor during the length of the contract to enable Gantrex to provide our 7 year warranty.
