Tree Surgery: Spent six weeks in Aberdeenshire learning a new trade. Duties involved were mostly heavy lifting, lifting sections of trees and disposing of brushwood correctly, and clearing up our place of work at the end of the day. This job really helped hone team skills and really put into perspective just how important communication is, especially in a dangerous job.

Princes Trust, Get Into Cooking: A five week course in March 2013 to help young people get experience in a professional kitchen.  Working with brilliant chefs at City of Glasgow college, paired with my love for cooking and fine food, this experience really helped my hands on skills and gave the opportunity to take initiative. Food Hygiene and Health & Safety certificates were acquired.

Artjunkie: Work experience that lead to full time position from February to November 2012, This online t-shirt company taught me everything from A-Z about how to run an online business. Duties involved were dealing with orders, printing t-shirts, packaging orders, running the website and all the social media aspects of the business.

McDonalds: I spent one year working for McDonald’s in France, 2009. Whilst there I learned valuable customer service skills, and this has enabled me to confidently work with the public in a fast paced restaurant environment. I am also confident with money handling, food hygiene and working quickly to a high standard. I have a sound knowledge of the structure of business due to my time spent working for McDonald's. I have a good understanding of food hygiene and its importance, as well as how to deal with unsatisfied customers.

Pumpkins Restaurant: I spent a three months working in a local restaurant in Grenoble where my duties included waiting tables, ensuring the restaurant was kept clean and tidy, and mixing cocktails. My time at Pumpkins provided me with experience working long hours in a fast paced restaurant environment and further improved my communication skills.

The Kings Arms Hotel: During the summer I would visit family members in Irvine, Scotland and whilst there I had a part time job at a local pub. My duties primarily included glass collecting, tending to the bar and ensuring it remained clean. I would occasionally have to deal with difficult customers which I believe has furthered my communication skills as this job gave me valuable experience in resolving any situations whereby the customer was dissatisfied.

Ellisland Hotel: For three months I worked as a kitchen porter in the hotel restaurant. I made sure all utensils were cleaned quickly and efficiently to ensure the chefs could work at the required pace.
