Client: – SHELL $ BASRAH GAS JV the Project Cost is $ 3 Billion.
As a Head of Discipline (HOD) my responsibility is providing discipline specific supervision and guidance on all design engineering and technical matters, monitoring project progress and ensuring compliance with established programs and procedures. HOD scan be seconded to work as Project Engineering Managers based on the size and complexity of the assigned project. My focus will shift from one of deep discipline knowledge to that of coordinating the various engineering disciplines involved in the assigned project.
Worked as a Construction Engineer Piping (PMC) for AMEC Onshore Project from 06th March 2012 to 22nd April 2013.
New Gas Booster Station, BS132 & Enhancements to BS131
Client: – KOC North Kuwait the Project Cost is $ 1.5 Billion.
BS132 is a completely new build gas booster station, which will be connected to the LP and HP gas pipeline network from surrounding Gathering Centres (GC15, 23, 25 and the future GC-24) in the Sabriyah and Raudhatain fields in North Kuwait. BS132 will consist of a single (with provision for a second ) gas compression train made up of two stage Low Pressure (LP1 and LP2) and a single High Pressure (HP) train followed by gas dehydration. The train will deliver 250 MMSCFD of dehydrated sour gas at a final discharge pressure of 925 psig, which will be sent to downstream processing facilities at Mina Al-Ahmadi, via the existing pipeline infrastructure. The LP1, LP2 and HP trains will each be driven by a gas turbine compressor. The scope also includes new pipelines to connect the new BS132 to existing facilities in North Kuwait. The pipelines range in size from 6” up to 42” and are all less than 45 km long.

Upgrade Asphalt Production Facilities
Location: Jeddah Saudi Arabiathe Project Cost is $ 02 Billion.
The scope of this project is to upgrade vacuum unit-II at Jeddah refinery to be enabled for processing 100 % of Arab heavy crude oil (AHRC) for the production of 6.00 MBD additional asphalt. In order to achieve the objective of this project, major equipment shall be replaced such as the vacuum bottom pumps (two pumps) along with motor and turbine, reduced pumps (two pumps) both impellers of pumps to be changed (Modified) and motor of the electric pump to be replaced with new (Turbine will not be replaced) and two new heat exchangers to be installed. The demolition of existing equipment and pipeline sections shall be closely coordinated and performed with the plant engineer.

Escravos Gas to Liquid Project
Client: Chevron Location: Escravos Nigeria. The Project Cost is $ 14 Billion.
Managing all Erection, Fabrication, Testing, Commissioning and Start-up requirements for projects, capacity of over 300 MMCFD of Gas to 34,000 BPD GTL products. Project units include 130 modules, 12 Process, 14 Pipe racks, 39 Air Separation Unit (ASU) & nearly 70 various process Skids. Piping connection successfully achieved without any LTI with two large vessels 2100 MT, 60 meters high with a 12 meter footprint each.

Nigeria Liquid field Natural Gas Limited
Client: – Shell Location: Bonny Island Nigeria the Project Cost is $ 28 Billion.
Managed installation and testing of AG and UG piping systems which included rotating and static equipment associated with Boilers, Utilities, Fire Protection, Ethylene, Pharmaceutical, Refinery, Nat Gas Turbines, and Polymer Projects. Preparation of test and turnover packages, as – built, weld maps and in charge of welder testing. As Piping Engineer I managed all Piping work associated with BONNY ISLAND NIGERIA TRAINS 4, 5 & 6 which included construction.
Prepares and implements the work execution plan and budget as relevant to the construction activities together with Project Manager Onshore, Onshore Engineer and Project Control Engineer. Manages and coordinates construction activities. Interface as required with other Project teams including design, procurement, logistics, HR, Project Control. Supervises sub-contracted construction and assembly works and in particular, monitor the reliability of local companies. Issues periodical reports on the state of works, customer relations, and the state of direct labor, suppliers and subcontractors. As well as critical states and progress forecasts for site activities.
Monitors the progress of construction works through the weekly review meeting. Monitors the quality and security of work, availability of assets and equipment and the performance of direct labor and subcontractors. Monitor the state of progress and compliance with deadlines. In collaboration with the Project Manager, identify and implement the corrective actions required to contain any deviations from the budget. Ensures that any extra costs incurred for defective supplies identified during assembly are duly debited. Handle any dispute or claim with partners, suppliers, contractors and insurance companies on behalf of the party to which payment owes.
Monitors functional tests and delivery to the customer, complete with the required certification. Supervises the demobilization, withdrawal from and closure of the sites on fulfillment of contractual obligations in relation to the progress of works. Collaborates with the Commercial Function during the estimating, tendering and budgeting phase and require assistance from Commercial Department during construction for contract interpretation. Draws up the projects’ programs and operating budgets within the specified area of competence and identify human resources and equipment requirements. Defines the times and costs required for fulfillment of established objectives.
Puts in place the project team and structure by defining and implementing, in cooperation with the pertinent key personnel, the Project Organization Chart, the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and the project Execution Plan (PEP). The PM maintains close links with the partners of a consortium or joint venture (J/V). Authorizes whatever is foreseen and planned for the completion of the various work phases, and analyze the cost estimate, adopting the necessary corrective actions when called for. 2 projects. Keeps in close contact with the consortium or joint venture partners. Ensures that the level of performance is in accordance with the Contract specifications.
That the costs fall within the estimate limits, and that the execution time of the project phases progress as set down in the contract. Keeps the appropriate communications with the Area Manager and the connections with the Units concerned in order to ensure an efficient project management. Assists the Client during the warranty period. Review contract documents and identify requirements and scope of work for project execution. Review specifications, drawings and other documents. Establish contract review criteria, Identify and resolve discrepancies and divergences from original proposal through the Instigation of technical queries to Projects/Client.
Coordinate with Projects and planning on project time schedules, establish target completion Dates ensure target dates are achieved. Monitor and control project man-hour requirements during project execution, identify variations between Contract and proposal. Take corrective action as necessary. Supervise the work and Ensure that the documents are updated regularly as needed. Resolve design irregularities. Incorporating contract specifications and international Codes. Resolve design irregularities. Monitor the transfer of piping loads to Civil Discipline, Coordinate on technical issues as required. Supervise the preparation of conceptual/study layouts and designs and provide necessary inputs for modeling and drafting.
Obtain the required inputs from other engineering disciplines e.g. mechanical data sheets, Foundation and structure details, instrument specifications and other necessary data. Monitor the preparation and issue of engineering drawings and technical documents. Review and integrate comments and inputs of other Engineering discipline into the relevant documents. Supervise the preparation and issue of Inquiry Requisitions to vendors. Ensure vendor Coordinate Material Take-off (MTO) activities, identify irregularities, discrepancies and Shortfalls, and take corrective action as required. Oversee the set-up of the Material Management system (VPRM) incorporating the project Specifications.
Coordinate and incorporate the MTO. Update and maintain the system to incorporate the latest material requirements. Administer the preparation and issue of Purchase Requisitions for the procurement of Equipment and materials. Coordinate with Procurement and provide necessary assistance to Expediting and Quality Departments. Engage with Quality Assurance for quality issues. Ensure strict compliance with Company’s Quality procedures. Knowledge and experience of, but not limited to, the following, Piping / Pipeline Flow Hydraulics and Flow Assurance plus associated Piping / pipeline etc.
