Job Responsibilities:

• Preparation and Witnessing of Welding Procedure Qualification Record, Welding Procedure Specification and Welder Qualification Test.

• Preparation / Maintaining of QA/QC documents such as QAP, Procedures etc.

• Vendor Assessment and Inspection of material, correlation of mill certificates, dimensional checks, condition of materials, documenting and reporting of non conformity ( if any) to specification.

• Inspection of welding consumables and equipments, checking of storage and baking of electrodes, verifying all welding parameters according to WPS.

• Inspection of Welding (check joint fit-ups, seam orientation, alignment, visual inspection etc).

• Interpretation of RT films and Review of PWHT/NDT reports and acceptance as per standards.

• Dimensional checks as per approved drawings.

• Witnessing of Hydro test.

• Handling Third Party Inspection.

 Material Inspection.

Material Inspection in accordance with ASTM standards.

• Inspection of Pipe fittings, flanges, etc; correlation of mill test certificate, dimensional checks, condition of materials, documenting and reporting of non conformity (if any ) to specification.

 Fabrication Inspection

Typical Stages are – 1. Raw material Inspection

2. Monitoring of Electrodes handling.

3. Monitoring welding parameters.

4. Monitoring preheat and interpass temperature.

5. Final welding visual inspection.

6. Set up of all activities

Familiar with following international codes and standards like ASME Sec. VIII, Sec. IX, Sec V, PD5500.

 Non Destructive Examination

Involved in Interpretation & Evaluation of NDT reports (RT, UT & PT)

 PWHT

Involved in Scheduling and monitoring PWHT.

 Hydrostatic Testing

Involved in

– Monitoring & Inspection during hydro testing

– Verification of Pressure gauge & chart reader calibration

– Preparing test certificate.

– Interpretation of results and documentation.
