I have worked for over 25 years as a HGV Class 1 Driver covering continental routes for companies
such as;

Pilkington Glass based in Italy and delivering specialised loads of glass
SMT General Haulage again based in Italy but covering all areas of Europe transporting any
type of loads
Freezer Box based in Italy but delivering loads of fresh and frozen food all over Europe
- I have also worked for companies throughout Italy who specialised in Exceptional Loads,
  these have been anything up to 30 metres long and carried loads of up to 570 tonne

My duties have included;

Driving vehicles on scheduled routes to pick up and deliver stock
Completing the correct documentation when booking goods in and out for delivery
Verifying the contents for delivery against delivery papers
Assisting to identify new leads and generate new business opportunities
Driving in heavy traffic and unsociable hours
Driving safely whilst obeying the traffic laws and regulations
Having a positive attitude, desire and willingness to learn
Obtaining customer signatures on delivery paperwork
Providing help and advice to customers and colleagues
Responsible for the accuracy and safety of all loads carried
Reporting any mechanical problems or deficiencies with the vehicle
Completing vehicle inspections, fuel, oil, water and routine maintenance

Education

Attended Rushden Boys School and completed a standard education
