2. Arabian Metals Co.

 Managing Company’s Advanced High Tech. Manufacturing Shops, including Fully Programmable Hot Wire Pulse TIG Welding, Automatic Twin Head Sub Arc Welding, Bore & Ball Weld Overlay Cladding, automated Welding/Fabrication Equip’t, Thermal Spray Coating, Heat Treatment & Boring / machining Facilities.

 Lead specialized staff (+90), provide technical support, Address Metallurgical problems faced during novel processes. Improve Quality & Weld Techniques, Train Welders, Control Weld Consumables. Qualify (WPS/PQR) & Welders (WQTR).

 Automated high speed Welding System had applications; Corrosion & wear resistant Weld Overlay (Inconel-625 & Stellite) on Ball Plugs, Valve Body Interiors, Christmas Trees, Flat Gates, Blowout Preventers. Weld Cladding capability up to 76″ dia. for cylindrical part & 36” size for spherical parts (e.g. ball plugs). Overlays were machined using usual machines / CNC.

 Run unique Thermal Surface Coating Systems, e.g. TAFA-HVOF (High Velocity Oxy Fuel), Flame Spray & Metalllizing.

 HVOF system produced high density, low oxide & strong bond coatings of WC, Inconel & Cr. Alloys for corrosion & wear barrier, used for oil field eqp’t., injection molding & other dies, bushings, valve gates, etc. The flame spray (Spraying+Fusing) applied for coatings of gates. Metallizing spray (Zn, Al & stainless steel) coatings on tanks & equip’t.

 Department Quality Procedures were prepared to implement ISO 9000 requirements. Perform Internal Quality Audit. Develop tools for welding technology improvement. Approved Job Routings Cards & daily/weekly production reports.

 Marketing staff relied on my support for Cost Estimates (Man-Hrs & consumables) of Welding Shop for biding jobs.

 Metallurgical Heat Treatment shop included Hendrick Seal Quench Automatic Furnace for carburizing & hardening of steels, Tempering-Nitriding & Vacuum Heat Treatment Furnaces for surface hardening. The application was for parts used in oil field & drilling. Cooperheat Programmable Oven used for stress relieving welded jobs up to 3 meters long.

 

3. Abahsain Co. (Lincoln Electric)

 As Expert for Welding Products, offer consultancy for Advanced Arc Welding Processes & Techniques to the LINCOLN ELECTRIC, USA customers. Trouble shooting advice for complex welding problems. Guide customers to install Automatic Welding Systems. Propose SMAW electrodes for specialized applications & materials. Help welding costs & electrodes consumption calculation on major jobs. Demonstrate Lincoln Semi & fully Automatic Welding Processes (FCAW & SAW).

 Counsel to ABV Rock Group (Contractor, Strategic Storage Facility mega-project, Jeddah) to recommend most optimum quality & cost effective welding solutions. Investigate factors affecting Welding Quality by performing WPS Analysis.

 Improve cost efficiency of manual welding users by inspiring economical semiautomatic processes. Share innovative ideas with customers & explain features & advantages of welding equipments from LINCOLN ELECTRIC, NELSON, & Bug-O.

 Investigating issues of company’s after sales service system backed by large inventories & with study of welding products demand histograms thru sales, helped harmonizing inventories & also built customers confidence & strengthen relationship

 

4. Descon Engineering Works

 Lead Inspections / quality evaluation of various specialized ASME equipment during engineering, fabrication & welding, such as high pressure & high capacity large vessels, industrial boilers, large dia. tanks, furnaces, diversified piping systems, numerous types of valves, steel structure, etc., as per applicable international standards and codes.

 Improvements introduced in QC by preparing & applying new Quality Procedures/Forms on ISO 9000 /SQC concepts basis

 Exclusive quality assessment plan prepared & applied for the mechanical equipment being engineered & fabricated for the giant Plants (Guddu/Kot Addu -Thermal Power), (Wah Cement -2000TPD) & other national importance industrial project.

 QC measures were ensured thru administering QC Inspectors (+45) at shop & site erection work, at stage Inspections i.e. Receiving, Layout as per drawings, Joint Fitups, Verify WPS, Welding, Fastening, assembly & Finishing, Welding & Painting Inspection at site. Prepare & Qualify (WPS/PQR) & WQTR.

 Liaison to arrange inspection of ASME boilers & pressure vessels from 3rd parties e.g. LR, GL, TUV, SGS, etc.

 Suggest preventive measures beyond general QC checks. The materials testing such as dimensional, destructive & non-destructive tests. NDT included RT, UT, MT, PT, Hardness, Hydrotest, & several other tests.

 

5. Heavy Mechanical Complex

 Managing Cast Iron Shop (staff > 300) in the country’s biggest Metallurgical Foundry, producing Castings (moulding, melting, pouring & fettling) of Cast Iron and High Carbon & Cr Steel, of sizes up to 20 tons. Guidance of the shop staff for the continual improvement of mouldings & castings based on priorities. Ensure inbuilt final quality in the cast products.

 Ensure high class shop equipment Preservation & maintenance Program, with safe practice. Produced Castings of plentiful compositions & intricacies, with applications in sugar, chemical & cement plants, boilers, valves bodies, ingot moulds, etc.

 The existing Bradley & Foster, U.K, technology to produce high-Chrom cast steel balls (dia. range 25-100 mm), was improved for better yield by re-designing the molds for casting of steel balls, extremely high in demand from cement & mining industry. The shop consisted 2 large cupolas (5 ton/hr ea.), 2 induction furnaces (1 & 5 tons ea.), 4 manual molding lines & 2 automated molding lines to process silicate & molasses sand molds.

 

6. SUPARCO

 Work on advanced high tech aerospace materials & then propose against the existing conventional materials. Scrutinize Specialized supplies & parts manufactured for small & large dia. rockets & satellite. Generate Welding Procedures for rockets’ special Alloys. Analyze Weld Microstructure & Property thru Optical/SEM Microscopy. Mechanical Testing. Propose Welding Defects remedial measures to achieve high degree of features and properties in fabricated rocket shells.

• Visit to South KOREA & TAIWAN in July, 2010 for 15 days to conduct training of the Project Engineering Team for QA & Plant Readiness Program (Shell Global Solutions Program), during engineering stage of SK-Amines & LDPE Project.

• Visited TAIWAN in May, 2010 for 7 days to perform QA Audit of CTCI, EPC for SK-Amines Proj. during detailed engineering stage.

• Visit to South KOREA & TAIWAN in Nov, 2009 for 15 days to conduct training of the Project Engineering Team for QA & PRP.

• Assigned in Reading, UK from Apr, 2006 to Sep, 2006, for QA/QC during` Engineering phase of the Yansab Project.

• Traveled to IRAN in July, 2008 for 2 weeks to investigate the Fire Incident in the Joint venture (Sabic + Laleh) Poly Ethylene Plant in MahaShehar, and also to evaluate the quality of the construction of the Laleh Petrochemical Plant built by Uhde.

• Visit to South KOREA in Mar, 2007 for 10 days to inspect the fabrication of Large pressure vessels & repair of C2-Spliter Column for Yansab Olefins Plant at Sung Jin Co., and also to assess and audit other vendors Doosan, Daykyung, S&T, etc.

• Visited Chiba, JAPAN in Feb, 2002 , for QA-Audit of Toyo Engg. Co., (EPC) during engineering of Petrokemya PKPE Project.

• Travel to Pasadena, USA for QA Audit & review 3-D model of Petrokemya Olefins Plant by Parsons, in Sept, 1999.

• Visited numerous Vendors in the Middle East (KSA/UAE/Bahrain/Qatar) to assess QA System for SABIC List of Approved Vendors.
