 Employment History:

Admininistrator                                 Westminster Mining                                     2010 to date

Working in my husband’s business, dealing with enquiries from the public and individuals ansering the phone, filing and record keeping, using excel , emailing and writing letters, sending out invoices and ensuring bills paid and other general admin tasks. We also entertain key clients regularly, which involves being a good hostess and developing client relationships.

This work is often highly confidential as it involves finding new roles for high net worth individuals or dealing with their recruitment requirements.

Customer Services Officer:             Wiltshire Council                              2009/2010     (Temporary Contract ). Involved answering the phone and directing queries from the public, working in a team but used own initiative a lot.

Legal Assistant:        Awdry Bailey and Douglas Solicitors, Devizes,   2002/2009

Call centre manager; involved telephone work, meeting customers, liaising with borrower/broker/banks including obtaining timely redemption statements, checking files, inputting data using in-house system, getting Office Copies & Excel sheet use. This was a very challenging role, involving lots of phone work, dealing with banks, clients and brokers at a time borrowers often found stressful and sometimes required my counselling skills. I used a complex in-house system, input data and saw the whole remortgage process through from start to finish, which involved much use of email and crucial paperwork. Highly responsible role; for example, it included checking ID and Deeds for title, receiving and recording information including financial, which had to be accurate as even one mistake would be costly.

I work well in a team, although my role demanded a lot of initiative and common sense. I dealt with numerous changes in this role and had to be quite adaptable, and I am highly conscientious, punctual and honest.

Previous Work Experience

1999 – 2002     Manager for A.D.E.P.T. A plumbing and heating company, manning an office mostly on own, keeping track of accounts and plumber’s movements, credit and quality control . This was a highly customer facing role, dealing with complaints and managing the performance of a team of plumbers. This job fully used my ability to get on with all types of people, my good time management skills, initiative, and ability to work unsupervised in an efficient and reliable way.

1996 – 1999     Optical Sales Advisor, Boots Opticians. Their IT system is a complex in-house one which I quickly mastered. I also learnt to use pre-screening eye test machines, which shows I can quickly adapt to and learn new systems. I was good at up-selling and managing customer complaints, and was entrusted to open and close the store on my own.

1990 – 1995     Data Inputter then Office Manager Powersource UK Limited

Promoted to Head of Complaints Department, then Office Manager, undertook a variety of tasks, eg: dealing with (and placating) customers, training, hiring & firing staff, PAYE sheets, use of Microsoft Office and most general office admin. The company downsized; I had to lay off staff, counsel them, & complete office closure.

1986 – 1990  S.R.N.(Nurse)

Learnt not to panic under pressure, think clearly, and retain a lot of mental information as well as be adaptable under suddenly changing circumstances. I held a range of care and management positions, including managing a ward of up to 10 staff and achieved staff targets under strict medical and financial restrictions.

Between 1978 – 1986 I was continuously training, including a variety of foreign work experience such as in Saudi Arabia, which taught me a lot about the world and how to deal with challenging/unusual situations, and honed my time management skills.
