Experience
Position: Despatch Area Leader (December 2013 – Present)
Moy Park Limited (Marfrig Group)
Position Overview: I am currently responsible for the despatch department on night shift where we pick & despatch fresh and frozen food Items to CDC’s and external storage warehouses for the likes of Sainsburys, Tesco, Asda, Aldi, Pizza hut. My team consists of 7 FTE’s and a fluctuating agency headcount of 1-3 bodies & two drivers. I am currently also working on DMAIC projects to streamline despatch operations to increase our cost per case. We also are governed by HACCP regulations and by the British Retail consortium.

Position: Supplies & Despatch Team Leader (October 2012 – December 2013)
Boots Contract Manufacturing
Position Overview: My Appointment within Boots was to aide with the re-structuring program within the contract manufacturing division. We dispensed; manufacture and packed such items as fine fragrance, medicinal/creams and toiletries. I was responsible for supplying 75 production lines with the stock used to manufacture and package each SKU. I’m managed a team of 13 operatives covering three floors. During the restructuring program we have re-developed SOP’s and implemented management information tools to give us a better overview of forthcoming events which will aide us to provide a better service to stakeholders.

Position: Operations Team Leader (July 25th 2011– October 2012)
Boots (Burton-upon-Trent Warehouse)
Position Overview: I had transferred to aide with the start-up of the Boots.Com Operation within the Burton Warehouse. This operation is a fully automated pick & pack operation using Knapp systems, in which I am responsible of making sure that my team supply the automated picking system (OSR) with stock and to make sure that the correct orders are picked and packed according to daily SLA’s. As this is a new operation I am also responsible for making operational improvements throughout the business. Prior to my latest appointment I was the Assembly Team Leader on the Christmas operation in Boots where I had to oversee the picking and packing operations in which we achieved our daily targets everyday and didn’t roll any work over for the whole of the Christmas period. To achieve this we implemented hourly pick targets which are set in accordance to the daily capacity reports (Pick Standards). Since my appointment I have overseen the operations in Fast Flow areas, Tote picking and LLOP picking operations and have also had an insight into capacity planning. On a day to day basis I have to liaise with all departments to make sure that Assembly are working in line with replenishments and despatch operations.

Position: Operations Manager (September 2010 – May 2011)
Domestic & Commercial Battery Importer & Distributor
County Battery Services (Kirkby-in-Ashfield) & Supporting Nuthall Branch
Position Overview: I was appointed as operations manager at County Battery Services to Relieve the Finance manager from operational duties and to implement ISO9001:2008 standards throughout the company. Operationally I have reduced overheads by 33% without effecting operations in the form of redundancies and reducing hours as agreed with the managing director. The main operations include FMCG warehousing; packing and dispatch orders; direct customer deliveries; Charging rota; warranty returns; on-site fitting & testing service. I have been mainly involved in the Stock analysis and operational evaluations, advising on best practices and continuous improvement. I have also saved the company approx 15% margin shrinkage by implementing a labeling method for courier dispatch, which stops the boxes being tipped up to be scanned in the DC and vastly reduces the business re-sending batteries to customers that have been disposed of by the courier. I’m also the H&S responsible for the site due to holding an IOSH managing safely certificate. I’ve also been involved with the implementation of Export procedures for the recycling division to enable us to export UN2794 materials to the EU.

Position: Warehouse Supervisor/Coordinator ( November 2008 – June 2010)
Katoen Natie (Wilton International site, Teesside.
Grangemouth, Stirlingshire. March 2008 – November 2008-Training Period)
Position Overview: When I arrived at the Wilton facility it was a new build terminal. Myself and two other colleagues were responsible for the creation and implementation of all procedures for a 400kt/a polyethylene logistics facility which was overseen by the group quality manager, the facility was interconnected to a manufacturing plant which was owned by SABIC UK Petrochemicals. We were responsible for the coordination & manipulation of the material, which was held in 30 500t Silos. The material would either be manipulated into 25Kg bags, which were palletized into 1375kg stacks; the finished product was then loaded into 40/45ft containers for intermodal shipment or into bulk containers. My duties after the documentation had been implemented were to recruit and oversee all warehouse/manipulation operations and & duties as described below.
