I've been in the trade for 37 years, fabricating all kinds of things, from drawings, from small frames to huge pressure vessels, and welding to x ray standards, for the gas, oil, chemical and nuclear industries, I can work from drawings, on my own, or in a team environment and am able to supervise others.

Career Summary

Feb 2014 to present

At the moment I work for OGN (offshore group Newcastle) on the FPSO EN QUEST PRODUCER as a pipe welder, carbon and s/s all sizes, clients also include Shell, and the nyhamner project for kvaerner norway, fabrication and welding

Also been on shutdowns on power stations in Dundee, fabricating and welding

2008 to 20014
I worked for Solatron ISA (Ametek gas and oil) shildon co Durham,

My job here was fabricating flow reading equipment for gas and oil, subsea and topside, my job included preparing, tacking together and welding the product all to x-ray, mpi and dye pen standards, also the fabrication of frames, and final assembly, materials used are, s/s, duplex, super duplex and carbon, from small bore up to 36” and all thicknesses, this is a list of clients we supplied

Statoil, Subsea 7, Cammrons, Amec, Aker solutions, Vetco Grey, Dana, BP, Shell, Morbrey, to name a few

I have BOSIET, MIST, and OFFSHORE Medical CCNSG safety passport

2006-2008
I worked for Salt Separation Services ( Rochdale )

My job here was fabricating pressure vessels and pipework for desalination plants for oil rigs, cruise liners, and MOD, also pipework for United Utilities, and Ineos chlorine, and ferrybridge power station plus installation for all above

1978 – 1987

Started work as an apprentice at Rochdale sheet metal as a welder boilermaker, fabricator, mig, tig, stick, on all kinds of materials, s/s, carbon, Inconel, aluminum, copper, phosphor bronze, ect

1987-1988

Worked for main air sports, my job here was fabricating and welding parts for micro light aircraft, mild steel and aluminum

1988-1999 ( 12 years in Australia )

Emigrated to Australia, were i worked for a number of companies

Worked on offshore jobs with this company, oil rigs included Atwood eagle, noble Clyde and jack bates from 89 to 92

Worked for other various companies while I was there on shut downs

1999 moved back to Uk

I also have fork truck licence, powered access licence , also normal passport, and driving licence

Also passed courses in the following, Swagelock fittings, georg Fischer plastics, slinging and lifting, abrasive wheels

I have worked on sites all over the country and supervised teams while on site

I can read and fabricate from any drawing, structural, pressure vessel, pipework, and frames of any size, from cutting materials to the finished product unsupervised, in a team or on my own, also taught and passed on my skills to apprentices

Just passed my bosiet, mist and offshore medical, 20/08/13, ready to go offshore

Just a bit about me, I go skiing as much as I can, ride my mountain bike, and practice guitar, i love cooking, don’t smoke, and drink in moderation
