Short Bio:

Just to give you a brief summary into my working background. I enlisted into the British Army in October 1986 as a Mechanic. I am now at the end of my military contract and looking forward to transferring my skills that I have developed over a number of years into a challenging and rewarding career.
During my time within the British Army I have worked on a large number of Military and Civilian vehicles and equipments. This has enabled me to gain considerable experience in mechanical rotating equipments including large diesel engines, pumps, compressors, generators, motors, fans and gearboxes. I also have extensive knowledge of component parts such as bearings, shafts, impellors and seals and have experience of working with cranes and winches. I am also experienced in hydraulic and pneumatic systems and I am familiar with and able to read schematic drawings and circuit diagrams. I have also worked as a workshop manager responsible for managing health & safety, service and inspection forecasts, inspection and premature failure reports as well as managing workshop personnel. In my career I have to gained several professional qualifications including City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering
I leave the Army having gained the experience and recommendations to promote to the rank of Warrant Officer having served in the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers. Serving in the Armed Forces for last 22 plus years has allowed me embrace a strong work ethic which allows me to rise to new challenges, adapt to change with ease, relocate at very short notice and be punctual and ready to deploy at any given time.
Away from work I am a very keen sportsman and a keen marathon runner raising many hundreds of pounds for charity. This has allowed me to maintain a very good level of physical fitness and I am free from any underlying medical or health problems.

Senior Mechanical Engineer, HM Forces Jul 2007 – present

Mechanical Engineer with the authority for the in-depth repair (major assembly removal/diagnosis/replacement or refit), modification, inspection and preventative maintenance of large and diverse equipment fleet (up to 1000 equipment’s including vehicles, plant, and generators). Working on diesel/petrol engines, transmissions, fuel systems, air conditioning. Including hydraulic, pneumatic and braking systems

• Inspected and carried out in depth repairs on various platforms including mechanical, Hydraulic and Electrical systems

• Reacted to senior management’s plans, prioritising maintenance and production schedule and workload in order to maintain critical equipment availability levels, ensuring mission success. This included the provisioning of resources such as high value spares, special tools, test equipment and human resources, consistently meeting deadlines whilst managing multiple priorities

• Devised, planned and carried out continual technical evaluations and safety audits to establish, implement, monitor and improve operating procedures ensuring compliance with safe systems of work
