Detailing engineer
June 2015 –present

Production of structural detailed design, Shop drawing & GA in accordance with BS8110:2005 and ACI 318 codes.

Production of Reinforced concrete detailed (Reinf.) shop drawings in accordance to BS 8666:2005, and ACI 318 codes.

Transforming structural design into shop drawings (General arrangement) which can be used for reinforcement detailing.

Finding controversy between structural, architectural, landscape and other discipline drawings.

Preparing the R.C shop drawing and BBS with CADS RC software

Checking the drawing against the design and details provided by the client.

Coordinating clients and consultant to ensure high quality and error free drawings and producing on Time.

Coordinating project activities with fabrication department personnel and create request for fabrication form and corresponding bar list in accordance with the help of Armor.

Travel to customer job site to resolve or assist in placing and steel handling technique.

Checking the drawing detailed by other detailer to make an Quality check

Reading and estimating the approximate rebar quantity.

In case of correction marking up, updating and resubmitting the drawing for approval.

Getting client approval and submitting it for fabrication and sending delivery schedule to clients.

Pate Engineering: Residential tower in Lusail Marina, Qatar. It has an approx. BUA: 43000 m2, in total 18 + Roof and Technical Roof.

Commodore: Residential tower in Lusial Marina, Qatar. It has 35 + 2 storey in total.

Later after graduation rejoined as “Senior CAD designer” and worked from June 2014 – June 2015. (2 Years of total Experience).

During this time period I have started learning and detailed various structural elements like column, shear walls, beams, slab, piles and various elements..,

Target I had is to produce the drawing on time and error free. And achieved it.

Have worked in various Projects. Some are follow (UK Clients) Paul beharm, Meinhart, Structural systems, Waterman, Campbell Reith, Tully death, APEC and Richard Hampton associates. Etc..,

Joined as Trainee cad designer and later promoted to CAD Designer. Later after 3 years of graduation joined as CAD Designer then promoted to Senior CAD Designer.

Involved in various construction activities like site executions de-watering etc. Preparing work schedulefor labor and arrangement of equipment in advance. Studying the drawing and implementing the works in site with the help of Project manager.

Took a lead position in CEA (Civil Engineering Association) during college days.

Presented a paper on “A Comparative Study On Stabilisation Characteristics Of Soil-Fly Ash Mixtures Reinforced With Polypropylene And Coir Fibers” in NIT Trichy and won 1st prize(March 2014)

Technical Skills 

Draughting software:

CADS RC – CADS RC builds on AutoCAD, the industry standard CAD platform. It fully exploits the stable 2D drawing environment of AutoCAD, tailoring a solution for rebar detailing and bar bending scheduling meets the stringent requirements of the industry. And I’m full fluent with-it.

AutoCAD- AutoCAD is one of the recommended design software applications because it provides professionals in these niches with unique drafting tools that can be used to bring their engineering ideas to life with the accuracy they require.

Revit Architecture- Has undergone certification course in CADD center. Autodesk Revit is building information modeling software. It allows users to design a building and structure and its components in 3D annotate the model with 2D drafting elements, and access building information from the building model’s database.

STAAD-PRO – Has undergone training in CADD Center. Used for structural design of any building.

Production software:

ARMOR – World class software used for steel fabrication and Bar Bending Schedule preparation. It is used to produce steel and manage data for invoice.

MS-OFFICE: Partially learned during my internship. And I’m not familiar with it.
