WORK EXPERIENCE

CONFERENCE AND BUSINESS PORTUGUESE/ENGLISH INTERPRETER

I interpret at conferences, workshops, business meetings and events across Europe, using booth and tour guide systems. I have interpreted for the automotive industry, finance and investments, international affairs and other fields. I usually work in pairs and I learnt over the years the importance of teamwork, good planning and research. Some of my major assignments include the IMDE (International MINI Dealer Experience) in Madrid for the BMW MINI 2014 launch to the Brazilian and Portuguese markets, which involved various presentations, speeches, workshops and high speed test drives whilst interpreting via radio as a passenger. Another relevant assignment was an Investment project, whereby I interpreted for the CEO of a Brazilian company on high profile meetings with bankers and investors in England, Scotland, Sweden, Denmark and Holland. I interpret for the criminal and civil justice system in the UK and Northern Ireland, for the Home Office, government agencies and mental health/NHS Trusts. I worked with various organisations in the city of Rio de Janeiro for the implementation of sustainable tourism via group planning. I had meetings with the local community, environmental and tourism boards, museums and national parks. Date: 1996 / 1998
