KEY PROJECT IN CATIA

Client : Ashok Leyland Trucks

Project: Product Design Support to Interiors and Cooling System of U-3723 platform Trucks

Product Information:
The Ashok Leyland U-3723 features five axles, twin steerable front axles, two rear axles and a self-steerable pusher lift axle at the middle that enables the vehicle to carry more loads in any conditions.

Its 37-tonne haulage truck with the highest payload of up to 27 tonnes. Its Aero-dynamic cab and lower unladed weight improved the fuel efficiency and optimized drive train and 11R20 tyres deliver improved drivability and effortless maneuverability

Design Work Carried:

• Product Design by Reverse engineering of dash board (Cab Interior)

• Class A surface creation for cooling system

– Class A surface smoothing and B- surface generation with engineering design for Cab exterior.

– Class A surface smoothing and Mounting with respect to BIW components for Ashok Leyland truck projects.

• Design Plan – timing efforts for engineering activities, tooling plan, drawing creation and completion activities

• Conversion of BLOW MOLDING COMPONENTS to PLASTICS for Intercooler Duct.

• Cooling system packaging: Fitment study, clearance study – Based on the same design changes

• Supporting bracket design support to radiator

• Schematic Study done for hoses and pipes in the coolant circuit , Including drawing Preparation and assembly instruction details

• Radiator hoses routing, Electrical cable harness routing with optimize and commonizing lengths

• Drawing creation for different parts supporting bracket, hoses, plastic components etc.

Environment: CATIA V5 R15 – Part Modeling, Surface Modeling, Assembly and drafting
