Execute the project in line with the delivery schedule, contract specifications and conditions. Monitor day to day activities through weekly, monthly and quarterly progress meetings of staff, subcontractors, and partners as well as by the client to facilitate achievement of targets highlighting slippages/backlogs formulating an action plan to keep the project on schedule.
Ensure adherence to the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) procedures and maintain safe and efficient working environment through the HSE team based on which the project is controlled.
Co ordinate with the HSE, quality and technical teams through management review meetings, kick off meetings, daily /weekly progress meetings to keep channels of communication open, review progress, and expedite work within the project team.
Participate in implementing and monitoring adherence to quality assurance policies and suggest improvements needed for continuous development of the quality management system.
Conduct periodic internal quality audits for piping, mechanical, instruments etc to verify adequacy of the implementation of the quality management.
Ensure proper documentation by recording events leading to a change in the project schedule on the part of the client, vendors.
Accountable for completion, commissioning and handing over phases during the project completion stage to ensure high levels of accuracy, productivity and focus.
Depending on the size of the project the process system priorities are streamlined for completion and commissioning by the project construction and commissioning teams in order to meet client requirements, ensuring a smooth handover of the plan.
Manage the construction team. Foster role clarity, involvement and team spirit to facilitate smooth execution of the project.
Perform any other related duties and responsibilities as required by the reporting manager to enable timely, cost effective and safe completion of work to the required quality.
Effectively communicate project expectations delivering objectives and goals to all senior team members in weekly progress meeting to insure all clients and stakeholders projects expectations are being met.
Direct and manage all project development, project plans, deliver progress reports, cost reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
Delegating tasks to all team members to insure all project phases have the correct materials, equipment and resources to keep each project phase on schedule and within budget.
Conducting daily site project meetings with Site Managers, HSE Managers, QA-QC Managers, MEP Managers, Civil Engineers, design teams and Surveyors to insure all the Construction activities have the right equipment, materials and manning resources to complete each given task handed out to deliver each project phase to the highest standard of workmanship within the safest working method.
Liaising with the Engineering and design team to speed up changes to the design that could delay the project or that do not work out within the field, insuring all new design changes to each project phase have been submitted to the client for approval with immediate effect to keep the project on time and to budget.
Daily site inspections to insure the Construction site is kept clean and tidy at all times.
Requesting and attending all final inspection of each project phase and handover to insure that all the necessary documentation gets signed off from the client for full payment of completion of works.
Requisition supplies and materials to complete construction projects.
Prepare and submit budget estimates and progress and cost tracking reports.
Develop and implement quality control programs.
Take actions to deal with the results of delays, bad weather, or emergencies at construction site.
Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems.
Plan, organize, and direct activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems.
Investigate damage, accidents, or delays at construction sites, to ensure that proper procedures are being carried out.
Evaluate construction methods and determine cost-effectiveness of plans, using computers.
Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other regulations.
Requisition supplies and materials to complete construction projects.
Prepare and submit budget estimates and progress and cost tracking reports.
Develop and implement quality control programs.
