The market norm is to hold an annual performance review. If you are going into a new position it is a good idea to ask for a review after say 6 months.
Remember there are always two points of view when it comes to a salary review – you and your employers. What have you done to justify additional pay? Keep a careful private note of areas where you have added value but don’t overplay your hand.
Salary reviews are negotiations not demands.
